Creating Tableware that Blends Japanese and Western styles
Standard Products believes that the ideal tableware should transcend the boundaries between Japanese and Western styles.
In Japan, where everyday meals often span a wide variety of cuisines - including Japanese and Western - choosing tableware to match the food is one of life's pleasures.
Our first step was to create a basic line of tableware that would allow any type of food to be presented beautifully. We offer a selection of tableware that is functional and easy to use, designed to work seamlessly across any dining style or cuisine.
Colours that blend in with your interior
The colours of our tableware are subdued and designed to make the food stand out. They are available in four colours: white, black, grey, and brown. The matte finish gives a refined, high-quality look, and is also fingerprint-resistant.
Standardised sizes based on the Shakkanhō system
To maintain visual harmony across the table, all of our pieces follow standardised sizing so that even if you purchase more tableware later, your tableware will still look uniform.
By standardising the size design of all tableware at Standard Products - across both Japanese and Western-inspired pieces, we avoid the inconsistencies that come from designing separate styles, making it easier to mix, match, and expand your collection.
In the future, we will continue to design not only tableware but also cutlery and kitchen tools to the same size standards.
Tableware without a base that looks beautiful when stacked
We are particular about not only ease of use but also beautiful appearance.
Our flat and medium plates are designed without bases to ensure that plates of different sizes can be stacked neatly.
The tableware comes in a wide variety of sizes, in one-inch increments, and we've paid particular attention to creating shapes that look beautiful even when stacked.
Our mission is not to create tableware for mass production and consumption that can be quickly replaced. Instead, we aim to create tableware that can be loved for years to come. We will continue to develop products with standard designs and easy-to-use functionality.
